Description

The Authority invites Qualified Candidates who have been admitted to the Qualification System for the Provision of Public Bus Services in Ireland1 and who have, pursuant to the Information Memorandum: a)indicated that they wish to participate in tender processes for the Munster region; and b)been allocated to Contract Band 3 (or a higher Contract Band); to negotiate for a public service contract to provide public bus services in the town of Ennis, in Clare. The proposed public bus passenger services are required to operate on two new routes in Ennis, NS1 and NS2, as described below and shown on Figure 1. The services are required to operate at thirty-minute intervals in both directions on each route on every day of the year, except for Christmas Day. Route NS1 is approximately 10.3 km in length, extends from Clarecastle, via Ennis town centre, to Ballymaley with twenty-six (26) stopping locations along its length (including termini). Route NS2 is approximately 13.3 km in length, extends from just north of Woodstock Golf and Country Club, via Ennis town centre, to Tulla Road-Hillcrest with thirty-three (33) stopping locations along its length (including termini). The expected term of the Contract will be from the operational commencement date of the services for a period of three (3) years. The Authority has reserved an option to extend the Contract on giving written notice to the Operator to extend the contract by a period of one year on two occasions (giving a total potential contract duration of five (5) years).
