Description

The instrument will be used to determine the physical properties, specifically porosity and specific surface area, of organic and inorganic materials such as biochar. The instrument should use gas adsorption techniques to determine the pore size and surface area of materials, to micro- and nano-scales. Compatibility with Helium, Nitrogen and carbon dioxide gases is required. The instrument should be accompanied by user friendly software, relevant data analyses packages and show routine day-to-day operations within a single analysis screen. The instrument should have at least a 3-station analyser and a sample preparation station. The analyser should deliver fast, accurate and precise evaluation of porosity and specific surface area using up-to-date modelling packages within a reasonably short timeframe.
