Proposed Scope of Works The Summer Works project is required to upgrade the existing Home Economics Room all existing equipment and fittings and ancillary services and replacing them with new. The work will be confined to the footprint of the existing Home Economics room having a total area of 116m2. Causeway Comprehensive School is 45 years old and all fittings, services and equipment in the Home Economics Room have been in place since the school first opened with the occasional change of electrical appliances as required. The current condition of the unit and teachersโ station, electrical equipment and services are outdated and no longer fit for purpose. The plumbing and electrical systems are outdated with ongoing maintenance issues experienced in their operation. The Home Economics Room requires to be upgraded to be in compliance with the Department of Education Guidance Document and layout for a modern Home Economics room in a secondary school setting. Proposed Schedule Of Works Item Description 1 Preliminaries 2 Accommodation works 3 Decommission and isolate all electrical and mechanical services to the room with confirmation that it is safe for work to proceed. 4 Remove all existing equipment and built in units. Include for disposing all waste to a recycling and licensed disposal centre. 5 Remove existing contact floor covering, include for disposing to a licensed disposal centre. 6 Break out new door opening include for lintel in preparation for an additional exit door from the Home Economics Room 7 Supply a new certified 30sfd unit with vision panel, ironmongery closer, etc., to the new door opening. Include fitting and making good. 8 Replace existing non-compliant door unit and replace with new as above. 9 General electrical fit out with services to all workstations to include wall mounted ducting incorporating double sockets, cooker sockets and all necessary cables and controls to hot water vessel and ventilation system.
